In Norway we were introduced to the local system of domestic and gender-based violence prevention and of work with both the victims and perpetrators of these acts. We became familiar with the working environment of individual organisations and, thanks to the openness of their representatives and the mindset of the Norwegian society regarding this issue, the study trip was truly inspiring for us.
We transfer the ideas acquired during encounters with representatives of FMSO, Reform, ATV and Primary care emergency services Oslo Kommune Helseetaten to our day-to-day client and corporate work. Most of all, however, we are transferring it into the planning of future projects and guiding our efforts in the coming years. We want to focus on securing sufficient health care services for gender-based violence victims and on improving work with persons who fail to control their own aggression. We also want to tackle their position in society.
The Norwegian experience has broadened our perspective of the attitudes of Czech society toward the issue of violence. The participants of the study trip have passed on the findings acquired there to their colleagues but also to representatives of other well-established organisations and institutions assisting people affected by domestic and gender-based violence. We want to facilitate the sharing of this experience through adult education programmes and educational activities targeting both the professional and general public, thus developing the area of assistance for victims, their loved ones, and perpetrators of violence in the Czech Republic.
