Optimalization of the interdisciplinary cooperation in field of protection of the victims of human trafficking and prevention

There are several agents involved in tackling the issue of human trafficking in the Czech Republic (NGOs, state and municipal police departments, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Labour Inspectorates, and others). However, this cooperation is not always effective. We considered it very useful to analyse the current workings of interdepartmental cooperation. The aim of the project was to define deficiencies in cooperation and in the provision of social services to trafficked persons. During the project, we prepared two analyses which yielded recommendations for improvement. Our lawyer developed a strategy to put these recommendations into practice and our methodologist incorporated these changesinto the social service quality standards of theorganisation. During the project, we also tried to influence the National Strategy to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings for the next period. The strategy has not been adoptedyet. Another outcome of our work is the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between organisations that provide social services to trafficked persons in the Czech Republic. These outputs facilitate the application of the results of the analysesinto practice and thus the sustainability of the project.
