Thanks to cooperation with the media, a great many more people know about the issues of domestic violence and equal opportunities now than before the start of the programme. Silence and the concealment of problems have never helped anyone, but information and making the right choices have. According to statistics, more than 6 million people have heard something about these issues only on the commercial radio stations Evropa 2 and Frekvence 1. Project Promoters in the Equal Opportunities section have published 1,500 media outputs in both printed and electronic formats. Campaigns focusing on the hidden poverty of women, cyber violence and domestic violence are changing the view of the general public. The Silence Hurts campaign was joined by a number of well-known personalities such as Michaela Mauerová, Jiří Bartoška, and Roman Šebrle. The End of Hidden Poverty campaign drew attention to the fact that women make up 90% of poor seniors and that 40% of single-mother families live below the poverty line.
